“YOU AND YOUR WIFE ARE GOING TO HELL” – MAN TELLS KIRK FRANKLIN IN HEATED CONFRONTATION
Award-winning gospel musician Kirk Franklin was involved in a tense confrontation with a member of the public after his Gospel on Independence concert was postponed due to lightning.
Videos circulating on social media show Franklin being restrained by people around him during a heated exchange with a man who reportedly confronted the gospel star.
According to eyewitness accounts, the individual shouted at Franklin, telling him that he and his wife were “going to hell” and urging him to “repent” for their sins.
The confrontation appeared to escalate briefly before those nearby stepped in to hold Franklin back and prevent the situation from turning physical.
The incident occurred shortly after organisers announced the postponement of the concert because of severe weather conditions, with lightning making it unsafe for the event to continue as scheduled.
Clips of the exchange have since gone viral, prompting mixed reactions online. While some users sympathised with Franklin, arguing that he was unfairly targeted, others commended those who intervened to de-escalate the situation.
Neither Franklin nor his representatives had publicly commented on the incident at the time of writing.
