Scenes of celebration erupted in Accra as scores of Ghanaian youths embarked on a jubilant procession to the family home of Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his outstanding performance against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Waving Ghana flags, singing patriotic songs and chanting the goalkeeper’s name, the supporters flooded the streets in a spontaneous show of appreciation for the shot-stopper, who played a crucial role in Ghana’s impressive display on football’s biggest stage.
