Meta is adding an AI assistant and desktop version to Edits, its CapCut rival.

The assistant uses Instagram data to analyse performance and suggest ideas.

The AI assistant is being tested with creators from Meta’s invite-only L.A. event.

Desktop syncing should make more serious editing less thumb-cramp-coded.

New tools include a Beta tab, richer audience insights, topic search and content version testing.

The Beta tab, expanded audience insights, topic search and multiple content versions launch today.

Meta says Edits-made content gets a 10% higher save rate and 2% higher reshare rate.

Meta wants creators planning, editing, testing and optimising inside its ecosystem. Obviously.
