The Court of Cassation, headed by Counselor Abdullah Jassim Al-Abdullah, has issued a final ruling sentencing Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled to three years in prison and imposing a fine of 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars in the so-called “secret expenses” case.

The case is part of a wider series of corruption investigations involving alleged misuse of confidential government budgets linked to ministries such as Defense and Interior.

The funds in question are typically classified as “secret expenses,” which are allocated for sensitive state operations but have been at the center of multiple financial misconduct allegations in Kuwait.

According to court proceedings reported over the past period, the case involves accusations of misappropriating public funds and improper spending of state allocations, with investigations focusing on how these expenditures were authorized and documented during the tenure of the accused in government service.

The Court of Cassation’s ruling represents the final stage of litigation in Kuwait’s judicial system, meaning the verdict is binding and not subject to further appeal.
