“I’m afraid of becoming a single mother” – Sista Afia

Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has spoken about her fear of becoming a single mother, saying she wants to have a family built on love, commitment and stability.

In a post on X, the singer said she was not afraid of motherhood itself, but worried about becoming a single mother or “baby mama” without the kind of family she had envisioned.

“Seeing how many single mothers there are in this generation honestly scares me,” she wrote. “I’m not afraid of motherhood, but I’m afraid of becoming a single mother.”

Sista Afia said her desire was to build a home rather than simply have a child. Her comments have since sparked reactions from some X users, with people sharing different views on relationships, marriage and raising children as a single parent.
