What to Expect From Apple’s Long-Awaited HomePod Mini 2
Apple may soon launch the second-generation HomePod mini, nearly six years after introducing the original model.
Images found in Apple’s software code reportedly show a product called the “HomePod mini 2.” The new speaker is expected to keep the same small, round design but may come in new colors, including green, pink, blue, white and black.
The HomePod mini 2 could also receive a faster chip, better wireless connectivity and improved sound quality. Apple may use the new hardware to support a smarter version of Siri and new Apple Intelligence features.
The speaker is expected to continue working with Apple devices and smart-home accessories. Users may be able to use it to play music, control lights and other devices, make Intercom announcements and connect with Apple TV.
Apple has not confirmed the release date, specifications or price. However, reports suggest the HomePod mini 2 could launch before the end of 2026, possibly in October.
The current HomePod mini costs $129 in the United States. Apple may keep a similar price for the new model, although improved hardware could lead to an increase.
