SOUTH AFRICANS REPORT FOOD SPOILAGE AS THERE ARE NO BUYERS

Some South African traders are reportedly raising concerns over mounting losses, claiming that large quantities of their produce are going unsold and beginning to rot amid ongoing consumer boycotts and disruptions to trade.

The complaints come as anti-South African sentiment continues to grow in parts of the continent following recent xenophobic incidents that have sparked protests, calls for boycotts and diplomatic engagement.

According to those affected, demand for certain goods has declined significantly, leaving fresh produce and other perishable items unsold. Some traders say they are struggling to move stock before it spoils, resulting in financial losses.
