A total of GH₵76.5 million has been released to support Black Stars’ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The disbursement to Ghana’s senior national football team, authorised by the Ministry of Finance, comes in two parts and is aimed at ensuring the team’s smooth participation in the tournament, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.Ghana Prisons Service

The first tranche, amounting to GH₵58.9 million, the cedi equivalent of US$5 million, has been released as an advance payment to cater for the team’s preparations and costs associated with their participation in the group stage of the tournament.
